Most desktop laser machines give you one colour: burnt. Great for engraved wood, useless when a customer wants their logo in brand colours.

Print and cut, in one pass
The workflow is the part worth understanding. On a normal setup you would print your artwork on one machine, move it to a cutter, and then fight to align the cut line with the printed edge. Every transfer introduces error.
On the M2 the material never moves. The inkjet head lays down full-colour artwork, then the laser cuts or engraves the same file on the same coordinates. Registration is handled by the machine, not by you.
Materials the inkjet prints well on:
- Wood — coasters, signage, keepsake boxes
- Paper and cardstock — invitations, packaging, tags
- Acrylic — badges, display pieces, keychains
- Fabric — patches, labels, textile accents
The ink is water-based, so finished pieces should be kept away from water. It also will not print directly onto dense, smooth surfaces like metal, glass or ceramic — those need a primer coat first.
The features that actually matter day to day
- Dual cameras with smart autofocus — live preview and automatic material positioning. Close the lid and the machine measures and photographs the workpiece for you.
- Side laser projection — engrave objects from 0 to 100 mm thick without a riser base. Tumblers, balls and rings work straight off the bed.
- Built-in air assist — clean cut edges without buying an external compressor.
- Fully enclosed — contains smoke and noise, which matters if the machine lives in a home or shop unit.
- Quick module swap — laser, inkjet, and an optional 3W infrared module for metal and plastic marking.
10W or 20W?
The laser module is the main fork in the decision.
10W handles engraving and cutting thinner materials — paper, cardstock, leather, thin plywood, acrylic sheet. For a craft business making tags, coasters, cards and small signage, this is enough.
20W cuts thicker stock in fewer passes and works noticeably faster on production runs. If you are cutting 5 mm+ plywood regularly, or the machine is running jobs all day, the extra power pays for itself in time saved.
If you are unsure and mostly doing print-and-cut work on thin materials, start at 10W.
Which package should you buy?
There are six configurations. In plain terms:
- Standalone (S$799 / S$1,399) — laser only. No colour printing. Choose this if you want a straightforward enclosed laser engraver and do not need CMYK.
- Color Print & Cut Bundle (S$999 / S$1,599) — adds the CMYK inkjet module. This is the configuration that makes the M2 what it is, and the one most buyers should get.
- Deluxe Bundle (S$1,389 / S$1,899) — adds the RA3 Lite rotary for 360° engraving on tumblers, bottles and rings.
The honest advice: the inkjet module is the reason to buy an M2. Buying the Standalone and adding the module later costs more than taking the bundle up front. If personalised drinkware is part of your business, go straight to Deluxe — the rotary is what makes tumbler work practical.
Who the M2 is for
Good fit: small craft businesses selling personalised gifts, print shops adding a colour-on-wood product line, schools and maker spaces wanting one versatile machine, anyone selling on Etsy, Shopee or at markets who needs short-run custom products.
Not a good fit: production cutting of thick hardwood or large acrylic sheets — that is CO2 territory, look at the xTool P2S. Deep metal engraving also needs a fibre laser like the F1 Ultra.
Running costs
Worth knowing before you commit: the ink cartridges are consumables. Based on ISO standard coverage, one cartridge prints roughly 400 pages. Real-world yield depends on how much ink your designs use — dense full-colour artwork burns through it faster than small logos.
Cartridges are not refillable, so factor replacements into your pricing if colour printing is central to what you sell.
